Camosun College Foundation Bursary Application

Application period

Applications are accepted beginning 8 am December 16, 2024 until 11:59 pm January 27, 2025.

You may be considered for a bursary if:

  • You are enrolled in a full-time post-secondary program at Camosun (minimum 60% of a full-time course load or 40% for students with a permanent disability approved by StudentAid BC)
  • You are enrolled at the time the application is submitted
  • You are a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Landed Immigrant. Note: International students are not eligible
  • You are a new student or continuing student who has successfully completed your last full-time period of study ("C" grade or higher)
  • You are not enrolled in an apprenticeship technical training period of 6 - 10 weeks. Foundation Trades eligible to apply
  • You are able to demonstrate financial need

Bursary instructions

  1. Complete one application only; you will be considered for ALL Camosun Foundation Bursaries for which you are eligible
  2. Check for errors prior to submitting; NO CHANGES are permitted after submitting
  3. Selected recipients will be notified in mid-December for the Fall bursary period and in mid-April for the Winter bursary period
  4. You will receive a reference # and confirmation email once your application has been submitted

By selecting "Yes", I understand and agree that:

  1. I am a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or landed immigrant of Canada and have a valid Canadian Social Insurance Number.
  2. I have answered all questions completely and accurately.
  3. I consent to Camosun College checking or verifying information on this application as deemed necessary by Financial Aid & Awards staff.
  4. If I give answers that are not true or if changed circumstances make me ineligible, I will be required to pay back all or part of the bursary funds I received, and I may not be eligible for future bursary funds.
  5. If I am receiving income assistance, student loan/grant or other government funding, I am required to notify the appropriate government office of the amount of bursary funding I have been granted.
  6. I consent that the Financial Aid & Awards office may release application information to the Camosun College Foundation Office and to the bursary donor.
  7. If I receive $500 or more in bursary funds in one year, a statement for income tax purposes will be sent to me by Camosun College.

Collection and use of information: Camosun College asks for the information on this bursary application in order to award bursaries in the fairest way possible to students who meet the bursary guidelines. The information on this form may be checked with information on your student loan application, with Camosun College Registration records, faculty and staff to verify your registration, class attendance and progress, grade point average and other details related to your eligibility for bursaries. Camosun College determines eligibility for bursaries and amounts of bursary funding granted. The information collected on this application form will be protected and used in compliance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (SBC1992).
