Award Overview

This award recognizes a recent high school graduate entering the Certificate in Comics & Graphic Novels program at Camosun College. The student will have demonstrated their passion for video games by participating in a game jam, contributing art to a game, creating a video game or engaging in other forms of visual storytelling.

This Fund was established by the Victoria video gaming industry with the leadership of Codename Entertainment’s CEO, Eric Jordan. Local gaming industry members have come together to promote video gaming production as an exciting and viable career option through discussion panels for high school students, video game work experience opportunities and post-secondary scholarships.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicant must:

  • Must be enrolled or planning to enrol in the upcoming Fall semester of the Comic and Graphic Novel program
  • Submit a Student Statement, of no more than 300 words, detailing how you meet the criteria of the award description and your passion for the program/industry

Selection Process

  • The Awards Committee will review applications and recommend a recipient. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  • The successful recipient will be notified by email no later than 6 weeks after the award application closing date.
  • The award will be applied to the successful recipient’s tuition account for the Fall semester.  If all tuition is paid in full, the award will be refunded through Electronic Fund Transfer or as a cheque to the recipient.
