The Lt. Governor’s Silver Medal Award
Award Overview
Established in 1979 by the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills & Training, the Lieutenant Governor’s Medal is awarded to students in vocational or career programs less than two years long at a B.C. public post-secondary school who have excelled in their studies, and who have contributed positively to the college, or the community at large.
Eligibility Criteria
You must:
- Demonstrate a strong contribution/volunteerism within the college and/or community.
- Have credentialed from a fewer than 2 year career or vocational program at Camosun College.
- Please note that College Prep, Access, Language Development, Bridge, etc. programs are not considered to meet the definition for this award.
- Have been enrolled and credentialed at Camosun College in the 12 months prior to the award application deadline.
- Demonstrate strong academic performance, with a minimum GPA of 7.0 (A-).
Selection process
- The Awards Committee will review applications and recommend a recipient. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- As grade point average (GPA) is a criteria for this award, the Awards Committee will be reviewing Camosun College transcripts.
- The successful recipient will be notified by email no later than 6 weeks after the award application closing date.
- This award is presented to the successful recipient at their graduation ceremony.

- Attach one (1) letter of reference from a professional source, recommending you for this award, and supporting the demonstration of your positive contributions to the college or the community at large.
