Award Overview
The Greater Victoria Chamber 1863 Impact Award has been established by the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce in celebration of its 160th anniversary.
The fund was established by the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce. Since the organization's founding, the Chamber has been at the forefront of change and progress, working to ensure growth and prosperity of our region.
Eligibility Criteria
The award will provide one, or more, awards to support Camosun students entering their first year of studies at the college in any program of study. Program will be given in the following priority:
- student(s) who demonstrate financial need
- student(s) who are dependents of members of the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce
- student(s) who self-identify as belonging to an under-represented group including: Canadian Indigenous, racialized groups, 2SLGBTQQIA+, neuro-diverse, persons living with a visible or invisible disability, former youth in care
Application Process
- Complete applications including all supporting documentation must be submitted by the deadline. Late, incomplete, or printed applications will not be accepted.
- Adjudication of this award will be managed by the Financial Aid and Awards office. All decisions are final.
- Successful recipients will be notified by email within six weeks after the closing date.
- Award will be applied directly to the student's Camosun account. If tuition and fees have already been paid, the surplus amount will be refunded.
Additional Information
- Entrance awards cannot be deferred to a future semester or year.
- Students will not normally receive more than one entrance award.
- Students receiving Persons with Disabilities or Income Assistance should speak with Financial Aid & Awards and their Ministry case worker to discuss how bursary funds may impact their government assistance.
- Bursary funds are considered income. A statement for income tax purposes will be sent to recipients by Camosun.
- Bursary recipients are encouraged to write a thank you letter to the donor; thank you letters can be submitted to Financial Aid & Awards at either campus.

- Check for errors prior to submitting; NO CHANGES are permitted after submitting
- DEADLINE: Applications must be submitted by 11:59pm on the deadline date. Late applications will not be processed.
