Applicants must:

  • Be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Be pursuing post-secondary education in the Fall semester within 12 months of high school graduation
  • Have attained outstanding academic achievement (B average or higher) upon high school graduation (grade 11 and 12)
  • Be able to demonstrate and provide examples of: interest in leadership or entrepreneurship
  • Be accepted into an eligible Camosun College Post-Secondary Business Program and enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in the Fall semester
  • Be able to provide a letter of reference from your principal, vice-principal or a teacher, demonstrating interest in leadership or entrepreneurship

Application Process

  • Complete applications including all supporting documentation must be submitted by the deadline. Late, incomplete, or printed applications will not be accepted.
  • Adjudication of this award will be managed by the Financial Aid and Awards office. All decisions are final.
  • Successful recipients will be notified by email within six weeks after the closing date.
  • Award will be applied directly to the student's Camosun account. If tuition and fees have already been paid, the surplus amount will be refunded.

Additional Information

  • Entrance awards cannot be deferred to a future semester or year.
  • Students will not normally receive more than one entrance award.
  • Students receiving Persons with Disabilities or Income Assistance should speak with Financial Aid & Awards and their Ministry case worker to discuss how bursary funds may impact their government assistance.
  • Bursary funds are considered income. A statement for income tax purposes will be sent to recipients by Camosun.
  • Bursary recipients are encouraged to write a thank you letter to the donor; thank you letters can be submitted to Financial Aid & Awards at either campus.

  1. Complete and submit one application only.
  2. Complete all required sections of the application.
  3. Upload your supporting documentation in PDF format. Mailed/faxed/emailed copies will not be accepted.
  4. Check for errors prior to submitting; NO CHANGES are permitted after submitting
  5. DEADLINE: Applications must be submitted by 11:59pm on the deadline date. Late applications will not be processed.

Please describe (in 250 words or less) how you have demonstrated leadership or entrepreneurship in your school or in your community. 

Please attach your most recent high school grades (grade 11 and 12 only); final grades will be verified during the adjudication period. 

Please attach a letter of reference from your principal, vice principal or teacher that shows you have demonstrated an interest in leadership or entrepreneurship.

Section D - Camosun College Entrance Award Declaration

I understand and agree by clicking “Yes” below it means that:

  1. I am a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada and have a valid Canadian Social Insurance Number. Successful applicants will be required to provide their Social Insurance Number.
  2. I have answered all questions completely and accurately.
  3. I consent to Camosun College Financial Aid & Awards staff checking or verifying information on this application.
  4. If I give answers that are not true or if changed circumstances make me ineligible, I will be required to pay back all or part of the entrance award I received.
  5. If I am receiving income assistance, student loan/grant or other government funding, I am required to notify the appropriate government office of the amount of entrance award funding I have been granted.
  6. I consent that the Financial Aid & Awards office may release application information to the Camosun College Foundation Office and to the entrance award donor.
  7. If I receive $500 or more in entrance awards funds in one year, a statement for income tax purposes will be sent to me by Camosun College.
  8. I understand that entrance awards funds will be applied to any outstanding tuition fees.
